The Challenge

Chandauli Police in Uttar Pradesh were running one of the most policed regions in the state on a patchwork of paper registers, spreadsheets, and disconnected WhatsApp groups. Beat officers, CCTV monitoring cells, warrant execution teams and anti-Romeo squads all captured critical intelligence, but none of it was searchable, none of it was shared in real time, and control-room officers had no single view of what was happening across 18 police stations, 481 beats and 605 villages.

Our Solution

Webeedream Technologies built CopWatch as a purpose-built integrated policing platform with a role-based web portal for supervisors and a companion Android app for field officers. The system unifies police station operations, CCTV inventory, warrants, beats, hotspots, tasks, history-sheeter records, anti-Romeo interventions and vehicle tracking into one command-and-control platform. Officer-level access controls, encrypted data channels, audit logging and Excel/PDF report generation are core to the design. Built on PHP + MySQL with a hardened cloud hosting stack inside India for data residency.

The Tangible Impact

  • โœ“Featured in Hindustan Times national coverage of the launch
  • โœ“18 police stations unified onto a single command-and-control platform
  • โœ“349 CCTVs, 481 beats and 605 villages under active coordination
  • โœ“3,464 vehicles under continuous tracking with license-plate history
  • โœ“1,348 anti-Romeo intervention records logged in the first months
  • โœ“Real-time data flow between field officers and control-room teams

Deep Dive Architecture

The Challenge

Chandauli Police in Uttar Pradesh were running one of the most policed regions in the state on a patchwork of paper registers, spreadsheets, and disconnected WhatsApp groups. Beat officers, CCTV monitoring cells, warrant execution teams and anti-Romeo squads all captured critical intelligence, but none of it was searchable, none of it was shared in real time, and control-room officers had no single view of what was happening across their 18 police stations, 481 beats and 605 villages.

Chandauli's leadership wanted a single, integrated policing platform that would work on both a desktop web portal for command-and-control and a mobile app for officers in the field. The requirement was ambitious: unify operational data, intelligence records, CCTV inventory, vehicle tracking, warrants, history-sheeters and anti-Romeo interventions into one system โ€” and do it fast enough for officers who had never used enterprise software to adopt it.

The Solution

Webeedream Technologies built CopWatch as a purpose-built integrated policing platform with a role-based web portal for supervisors and a companion Android app for field officers. The system was designed around the actual workflows of an Indian police station rather than a generic ticketing product bolted onto a badge.

The web dashboard consolidated every core operational metric into one screen: total police stations, CCTV count, active warrants, beats, hotspots, tasks, history-sheeter records, anti-Romeo entries and vehicle tracking. Each metric drills down into a fully filterable data explorer with export to Excel and PDF for command briefings.

For field officers, the mobile app captures data at source โ€” anti-Romeo interventions near colleges, warrant execution notes, beat patrol checkpoints, suspicious vehicle sightings โ€” and syncs the moment connectivity is available. Officer-level access controls ensure a beat constable sees only what their role allows, while station SHOs and district-level admins have progressively broader views.

Under the hood, we built the platform on a modern PHP + MySQL stack with role-based access control at the database level, encrypted at rest and in transit, and served through hardened cloud hosting inside the country to meet data residency requirements.

Real-World Impact

CopWatch went from concept to production in 14 weeks. Within months of deployment, the platform was managing 18 police stations, tracking 349 CCTVs, cataloguing 622 history-sheeters, monitoring 1,348 anti-Romeo intervention records and tracking 3,464 vehicles. Ten operational tasks and 180 checkpoints/hotspots were being coordinated live between field officers and control-room teams.

The impact was significant enough that Hindustan Times covered the launch under the headline "Chandauli Police launch 'CopWatch' to track 'romeos' near colleges, public areas" โ€” a rare piece of major-media coverage for a district-level policing tech deployment. The recognition validated what the numbers already showed: technology built around real police workflows can move the needle on public safety when it respects how officers actually work.

Technology Stack

The web portal is built in PHP with a MySQL backend and a responsive dashboard optimised for command-and-control workstations. The Android field app is native, with offline-first capture that syncs when connectivity is available. Role-based access, encrypted data channels, audit logging and report generation (Excel + PDF) are core to the platform's design.

Why This Case Matters

CopWatch is a working example of how a mid-market IT services firm can partner with a government agency to ship real, measurable technology that changes how public safety operations run. The engagement combined product thinking, deep understanding of police workflows, and disciplined engineering โ€” the exact combination that separates a working GovTech platform from a demo that never leaves the pilot.
